The FUTURE is Up to YOU!

I am reflecting on how this class has taught me in a very different way.  I "see students, hear students very differently now. I am touching their lives differently. I want to also support our veteran, more experienced and new teachers in the field of education differently

John Cotton Dana once said, "Who dares to teach must never cease to learn."

Without past education, where would we be?
Without future education, where will we be?
With better education, we will be further along in our exploration of the world.

How do we do this, how do we better our education for our children of the future?  We must change our thinking.  We must think outside of the box, break down as many barriers as we can.....

But with that, comes the responsibility of accountability.  How can we be accountable if we break down all possible barriers, think outside the box, move away from the norm?

Our studnts are showing us the direction, showing us how.  They DO want to learn, they want to BE someBODY.... but they want to learn their way... through experiences, technology and through the love and care of postive teaching.

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." by Henry Brooks Adams

Education is something that has the biggest value of anything in the world. It is an ideal that without it, we would never be able to live the way we do today. So I challenge ALL of you, motivate yourself, think differently, and you will inspire and motivate the children who will be taking care of us one day!

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

I must end by saying that if you have teamwork, not only is Disneyland the "happiest place on earth" as well as San Luis Obispo", but so can each and every one of the schools YOU touch!

This will be my last blog for this class... but you haven't seen the last of me. Change is about to occur!  Jackie Kirk-Martinez

Reform with Passion!

This is UCSB C7 - Watch out because C7 will reform education with our passion!   Click this link!

We are leaving the Industrial Age and entering an Age of Ideas and Creativity , an age where individual and shared talent will be the most important assets. Schools as Tom Peter says in his wonderful book 'Re-Imagine': 'Are a thinly disguised conspiracy to quash creativity'. 'Talent', he says, 'is everything. And the production of talent is significantly dependent on schools'. Or it ought to be.
